This scenic ride across the Rockies provides some of the best views in the country. The route optimizes the most amount of quality singletrack as possible. It is best ridden between July 1st and September 30th. Trying to go earlier and you will encounter large snow blocking the trail and the small streams you must cross might be large rivers. Starting later will be cold with less available daylight. Please always follow Stay the Trail guidelines.
The route utilizes public land which is maintained by many groups including Colorado Central Mountain Riders, Gunnison Goats, Tomichi Trail Riders, Boot Hill Motorcycle Club, Westcore, and others. Please consider donating to these organizations or Trails Preservation Alliance. Or even better volunteer for a trail clearing event with one of these groups.
