Preperation

Bike: The trail is best ridden on a 250-500cc 2 or 4 stroke street legal bike.  You will need at least 95 miles of gas range so a larger tank is ideal, if you can't get one we've had great luck with the Giant Loop gas bag.

Body:  450 miles of high rocky mountain riding is no joke.  You will want to start the trip well rested and with a good base level of fitness.  Do a shake down ride a few weeks before you set off to be sure you are ready for back to back 100 mile days carrying a bit of extra gear, parts, & tools.

Navigation:  Having a hands free navigation setup will save a ton of time over several days.  Having a GPS device or second phone on your bars will save a ton of time at each intersection. It is always a good idea to have several back up navigation options on your phone to confirm you are on route when in doubt.

Gear:  This route is great from the point you will hit some form of civilization at least once a day.  In between those stops you need to carry everything you need to keep moving. Bring a tube of quick steel repair, hose clamps/bailing wire, assorted bolts and fuses, a jump pack, and the tools you would need to troubleshoot or repair any issue that could come up.  While the trail is typically clear of major fallen tree's, having a saw in your group will provide piece of mind if you encounter a large down tree.
